Frequently asked
Is a face oil safe to use in Cambodian humidity?
A dry oil is — the Orchid & Blossom blend uses lightweight botanical oils (olive, jojoba, camelina) selected for fast absorption rather than occlusion. Jojoba sits closest to the skin's own sebum profile, so it absorbs cleanly rather than forming a film. The result feels like softness without a greasy residue. Heavy plant oils (coconut, mineral) behave differently in humid heat and are not used here. This blend works through the year, including monsoon season.
Where does a dry oil go in a routine?
This is the final step in an Advanced evening routine — applied after moisturizer to seal in hydration, or mixed directly into your moisturizer for a lighter finish. A few drops are enough for the entire face. You can also pat it into hair ends or rough areas on body. Pair it with Curi Lab Intensive Advanced Repair Cream as the layer beneath, or skip the cream and apply just the oil if skin already feels comfortable. Always apply before SPF if used in the morning.
My skin gets oily. Will adding a face oil make it worse?
Counter-intuitive but no — oily skin is often dehydrated underneath, which signals the skin to produce more sebum. A light dry oil can calm that signal. Start with one drop, pressed into the cheeks only, not the T-zone, after your moisturizer. If skin stays balanced through the next day, expand to whole face. If it feels heavier or more congested after a week, drop to alternating evenings or pair with Ovalla Lengkuas Spa Foaming Cleanser in the morning to clear any buildup.
